“And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. He said to them, “Where is your faith?”
He was in the boat…with them. He was sleeping. Had they had a fuller understanding of who He was, the fact that He was asleep in the midst of this storm at sea would have been an assurance to them instead of a reason to panic. Surely if the Savior could close His eyes and be at rest, they should not have to feel frantic about any danger. In those hands, at rest by His side, was the power to grasp all the waters of the planet and hurl them into space, if He so chose.
We are safe with Him, ladies. He is ever with us…He has promised never to leave us or forsake us. Will we rest in His presence because we are well acquainted with His power today?
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
