Your Savior knows.  He’s “been there, done that” more entirely than anyone else in history.  That is why He is the most excellent High Priest you could ever hope for.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. ~Heb. 4:15,16

If you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, His grace has rolled out the red carpet for you, all the way to the throne of grace.  His sacrifice has rent the veil (the separation between men and God) in two, from top to bottom and the way is clear.  Go to Him. Boldly…not swaggering, but with confidence in what He has done for you.  Those things at the top of this blog post…the things you feel so keenly?  He has too.  He has shown the way.

You have an honorable charge.  It is to follow Him, be like Him, so others may profitably follow you..  This means we must learn to deny ourselves comfort, convenience, ease…and embrace the things God has ordained in our lives to keep our focus upon Him.

The Pain, Suffering, Anguish, Isolation, Contradiction, Shame, and Misunderstanding? When we experience these, we understand in part what His earthly existence was like.  The yoke is easy, the burden is light, when we are mindful of what He has done for us.  We enter into the “fellowship of His sufferings,” and in so doing we learn empathy.  Grace shines brighter in the glow of fiery trials.

The understanding we wish we received from others is already perfectly ours in Christ.  He can help us rise above the sense of entitlement we have…that others owe us compassion.  Is it right? Yes? Are we in a position to demand it? No. We are dealing with finite, flawed, egocentric human beings such as ourselves.  We already have what we are seeking, fully in Him.  As we draw near, we know it more tangibly.  The Spirit paints it vividly for us if we want it.

No one understands like Jesus;
He’s a Friend beyond compare.
Meet Him at the throne of mercy;
He is waiting for You there.

No one under-stands like Jesus
When the days are dark and grim.
No one is so near, so dear as Jesus;
Cast Your every care on Him.

No understands like Jesus;
Every woe He sees and feels.
Tenderly He whispers comfort,
And the broken heart He heals.

No one understands like Jesus
When the foes of life assail.
You should never be discouraged;
Jesus cares and will not fail.

No one understands like Jesus
When you falter on the way.
Though you fail Him, sadly fail Him,
He will pardon You today.
