I’m not normally one who sees beauty in images of urban life. I prefer mountains, oceans, flora and fauna. The image I saw yesterday changed my mind. Brannon McAllister (whom I am privileged to know in connection with his dad, Dr. Bruce McAllister) posted this image yesterday on Facebook, and I’ve been back to look at it several times since.
The shot is looking toward Manhattan, from Queens. I love the composition: ivy, clouds, muted “city” colors, and particularly the contrast of old (in the foreground, with its embellishments) and new (skyline in the distance). He gave me permission to borrow it.
