How do you envision it? I have seen depictions of this event, showing saintly figures in flowing robes, gliding gracefully upward through the glowing clouds. You can almost hear the harp music. Is that what it will be like?
1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”
1 Corinthians 15:51 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Matthew 24:27 “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Mark 13:7 “And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in diverse places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.”
Revelation 22:20 “He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
Quickly? Hasn’t it been thousands of years? Well, I would challenge you to think…what are a few thousand years when you are able to view eternity at a glance? Yes, “quickly.”
Rapture. In this case, it is an event, not a feeling (although I am certain there will be a wide range of feelings in that moment…from exaltation, to exhilaration, to dread. View this and consider.
