“The Christmas Box” has become a favorite of ours. The book was written by Richard Paul Evans. Although he is LDS, it is not apparent in the film (unless you count the rather mystical dreams of angels, which unfold into real life), the story of a young entrepreneur (Richard Thomas) and his wife (Annette O’Toole) who move into a mansion to care for an elderly lady (Maureen O’Hara). The husband discovers himself unwillingly on a journey to discover the first gift of Christmas. There is a gospel culmination at the end. Nicely done, especially for a Hollywood endeavor.
