In Our Weakness, He is Strong–A Mighty Fortress is Our God

Home Again, Home Again Jiggety Jig! June 4, 2008

I do feel very “at home” writing in cyberspace.  At the suggestion of an admired pastor friend, I have ventured out (in spite of my web ignorance) to reach and encourage a larger sphere of ladies.  I have seen the need for some time, and now…here we are!

Tell me, what type of topics do you want to/need to discuss?  This is a safe venue, as far as I am concerned.  Many of my monthly readers are pastor and missionary wives who need a sounding board.  Speak your mind.  Ask the unaskable.  God helping us, we’ll all find good, biblical advice.  I want this new outreach to be “as cold waters to a thirsty soul”.  If it is not useful, it should not exist.  Please help me help us all!

  1. Dear Diane
I appreciate your blog.. I think it is a good idea to use the memory rightly. We have been thinking about what a very hard life Jeremiah had.
Some subjects I would like to see addressed would be:
    Ladies and emotions
or How to control your emotions

and also Aging and how to stay sweet…or have the right perspective about it.

thanks dianne barrouk beit sahour Israel

These are great ideas, Dianne. We’ll certainly address them. I have told friends that I aspire to be a gracious old lady. I am on the “glory side” of my three-score-and-ten now, so I’d better get busy! ~D

Although I’m not a missionary or pastor’s wife, I would like you to address a topic that is an issue they often face: separation from family. It would be helpful to hear how others deal with this issue and maybe encouragement they have received from Scripture. Thanks!

Ya know, this issue (separation from family) reaches much further than only missionaries. What about college students? Newlyweds (gals as well as guys)? Empty-nesters? We’ll get a post rolling soon. This is a good one to pursue, as it touches all of us in some way or other. Thanks for the idea.~D
